Following the official folding of progressive metal band Ochre, Kim Benzie (vocals) and Stewart Hill (bass) wanted to have another go at a band project. They hooked up with Rob Maric (guitars) and Scott Davey (drums), and this new outfit was named Dead Letter Circus. Like with Kim and Stewart's previous band Ochre, extensive live performances were given to build up interest and a fan base. In 2007 they issued the EP Dead Letter Circus, to favorable reviews. In 2008 Davey left the band, and was replaced by Luke Williams (drums). Towards the end of the year they released the single Next in Line. 2009 saw Dead Letter Circus start working on their debut album, and in the fall they released the single The Space on the Wall as a teaser for the forthcoming production. At the start of 2010 the band were given the opportunity to hold a select few gigs in the US, which also resulted in a record contract with Warner Bros Australia. Their debut album This Is The Warning was issued in May 2010, with a tour to promote the CD planned for May and June.
