Directors and producers value his understanding of storytelling, his collaborative disposition and his dynamic musical range. He participated in the celebrated ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop, and was selected as the 2016 recipient of the ASCAP Foundation David Rose Award. Dan graduated from the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, where he studied a variety of music styles and skills. He also attended the Aspen Music Festival Film Scoring program, where he studied with composers Jeff Rona, Jack Smalley, and Marco Beltrami. His early career as a jazz pianist led him to performances in Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. He has been commissioned to compose orchestral and chamber works in Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and Bangkok. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Dan has worked on television shows such as “MacGyver (2016)”, “CSI:NY”, “Whodunnit?”, and "Dominion". He has written and produced national and international commercial music for Pepsi Co., Nissan, Loot Crate, SC Johnson, and Mercedes-Benz. His library music has been featured extensively on major television networks.
