j. cowit has been experimenting with different sounds and ideas for over a decade, as drummer/singer/co-writer for post/psych rock veterans Wounded Buffalo Theory (www.woundedbuffalotheory.com), bluegrass outfit The Sometime Boys (www.thesometimeboys.com), and producer/composer for j. cowit and the Ruthless Orchestra. For his second solo album under the eponymous monkier, j. cowit has returned with an album filled with dark, and at times scary, texture soundscapes crossed with dub rhythms, downtempo bass lines, and electronic beats and ideas that all falls together naturally. Unlike his electronic dance albums with the Ruthless Orchestra, "Metamorphosis World Peace" takes it time, slowly slipping from one atmosphere to the next, bringing the listener along on an aural journey through Carl Jung's shadowlands, or perhaps a vast dystopian wasteland centuries from now.
