Karmine Alers was born and raised in Spanish Harlem. She has been singing since the age of 13, which later led her to study voice at the high school of music and art. At 17 she joined a 3 girl vocal group which took her on the road performing all over the states. She joined other bands while attending college. Taking courses in acting and dance. Karmine went on to doing children shows and industrials. As well as landing a few spots in some independent shorts. Karmine's singing career would pull her again into a new 3 girl vocal group. This time landing her a recording deal with A&M records. The band "3RD party" recorded an album, filmed their video and traveled nationwide. The band also performed on TV shows such as Regis and Kathy Lee, Rupaul, Jenny Jones and The Today Show. Karmine was then called to be in the Broadway show RENT. After touring with the National Benny Company of RENT she then was hired on Broadway as an understudy. In January 2002 she was offered the leading role of Mimi , which she is currently playing. Karmine has been focusing on promoting her debut solo album "For You" This album was produced by: Jimmy Greco, He is a New York based writer / producers who's credits include writing, producing or programming for such artists as Santana, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Co Co Lee , Jennifer Love Hewett , Jamie Lynn Sigler, Anita Baker, and more. Over 25 million in worldwide sales combined. His first # 1 Record was with Jerry Rivera's song "Quireo" It stayed on Billboards Hot Latin Tracks at #1 for Six Weeks. It was also nominated for "Premio Lo Nuestro's Song of the Year" 2001. He later co-wrote &-produced Frankie Negron's album "Por tu placer" which was nominated for 2002 Grammy Awards "Best Salsa Album of the year". Soon after he co-wrote & produced "Si Ya Se Acabo" for Jennifer Lopez for her "J-lo" album. (7 Million units sold worldwide) as well as the "J to the LO" Remix album (international - 2 Million units sold). The most truly unforgettable Co-Write and Production was for the living legend Carlos Santana.. The song "Come to my world" appeared on the b-side off his first single "Game of Love" featuring Michelle Branch" off his album "Shamen", as well as Santana's current worldwide release "Ceremony" remixes & rarities. Jimmy co-wrote the song called "Seduceme" recorded by the artist "India" which stayed at #1 on Billboard's "Hot Latin Tracks" for the 3 weeks (March 2003). The album "Latin Song Bird" was the #1 selling salsa album in billboard for 9 weeks. It has already been certified gold. "Seduce me now" the English version was released into the American dance market and hit #2 on "Billboard's Club Chart) In 2003 he received a Grammy Nomination as the composer for "Seduceme" under the "Tropical Song of the Year" category.
