Recorded and mixed in the small town of João Pessoa, Paraíba, in Brazil, and mastered in England by the famous Pete Norman, "The Histrionic" shows Rieg's recent efforts in mixing their different cultural and musical backgrounds such as Folk, Trip-Hop, Pop, Drone and Afrobeat. The first track, Postmodern Funkatron, shows hints of their funk and afrobeat influences, such as Bootsy Collins, Gilberto Gil and Fela Kuti, exploring dark sexual and postmodern themes. The second track, The Histrionic, describes histrionic personality disorder using key Lofi and Trip-hop elements to express thoughts and feelings. The third track, Runaway, is the EP's popiest track takes you on a trip on the sunny beaches of Brazil during a sunset, mixing pop with folk and electronic music.
