简介
PHRUISHUN MUSIC ARTIST With a life that spans between his early years in Portland, his developmental period in Oakland & San Francisco and his present day sojourn in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, Phruishun (pronounced ‘fruition’) is a seasoned, multi-skilled artist with a “phreedom-inphused” world view, a spirit-inspiring message and a vintage soul vibe. In his own words: “I call my style of music ‘Lyrics & Groove;’ lyrics that make you think and soulful grooves that make you move.” WEYUZ2LUV, Phruishun’s Winter 2017 release, centers around the myriad manifestations of the universal emotion known as love. The 16 track album includes the songs Eight Steps To Love, Rhythm Of Love and Hollywood Love, which explore the phenomena of courtship and romance. Songs like Wall, Change Up and Billie Jean Blues (a tribute to his late grandfather Chicago Blues legend Arthur ‘Big Boy’ Spires and late uncle Mississippi Delta Blues legend Bud ‘Blind Bud’ Spires) discuss the challenges of maintaining a healthy, loving relationship. Just Think, Dreamin and the title track We Used To Love, examine the concept of loving our fellow human beings. The Path, Sacred and Benevolence speak to Phruishun’s personal faith and spirituality. Collaborators include: jazz producers/multi-instrumentalists David Decuir, Ric Alexander and ZON€ {Internal Sun}; his brother, gospel/blues guitarist Marvin Spires, Hip Hop producers Tz On The Track, Beats By Jake, Will and Psycho Sounds; along with rappers Fly Solo and frequent collaborator, his son, rapper King Pimpin. Guest vocalists include sultry songstress Marla B and soulful crooner Melvin Wafer. When not making music Phruishun can be found on location directing an indie feature, exploring a new digital media project or teaching filmmaking, acting and songwriting to young, aspiring artists, from the Bay to LA.
