This One's Gonna Leave A Mark is the 7th album released by American composer-singer-songwriter, Don Bodin. On this album Bodin departs from his previous released album format of mostly instrumental music and delivers an entire album of dark, acoustic melancholic songs. Most of the music for the album was originally written as 60-90 second "source music" cues for independent films Bodin had scored. Once Bodin had accumulated a couple dozen tracks that had never been fully realized, he worked at creating new arrangements and writing lyrics for the songs. Bodin's original intention was to have the songs sung by professional vocalists but as the lyrics became more and more personal and as he received positive feedback from friends and colleges on demos he had recorded using his baritone voice, he moved forward crafting each track around his voice. The album contains a niche spectrum of acoustic musical styles including dark folk, blues rock, orchestral-backed Americana crooner and the melancholy of the New Orleans funeral sound into a peculiarly eccentric American style. PCC radio host Joe Armstrong described the opening track of the album as "channeling Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and a lot of other really, really cool people . .
