Kai Anschau's KAR label celebrates the mastermind's first solo EP. Strong in narrative waves of techno and electro sounds that take you from the dark into glimpsing light. 'Dream Of An Electric Monk' is a pretty sombre affair. Dark arpeggios compliment heavy and brooding bass-sounds, massaging you with a subtle groove. With percussive lightning on top of things and spooky atmospheres spinning around, Anschau really takes us on a trip to the inner spheres. The Monk sees through it, electrically. So dare You! 'Shadows Of A Perfect World' does not get much darker but delivers this EPs message in yet another soundtrack-ish arrangement. The perfect world is reached via various bass-filled tunnels, through seering synth-fog and webs of sharp percussions and drum-machinery.
