The album “Dai bog!” is a collaboration between one of the greatest Russian poets Yevgeny Yevtushenko, now resident in New York City, and Latvian composer, author of numerous popular melodies and one of the all time greatest Latvian jazz pianists, Raimonds Pauls. Y. Yevtushenko’s beautiful poems in Russian are here supplemented by compositions of R. Pauls.

Dai bog! is a Russian idiom, meaning – God, may it happen. The Great Russian poet’s and Latvian composer’s collaboration is a unique prayer in the language of arts – God, may the spirit of music and power of poetry unite nations despite political and historical disagreements! Compositions enclosed in this album brake through national disagreements, regime and political systems, and reveal the essence of truth as only poetry and music can represent it: beautiful and divine.
