简介

Brazzaville teams up with Aloe Vera front woman and Zemfira to create new single, Robot. Like all human beings David Brown has begun to understand that his soul is trapped inside an animal that is destined to age and ultimately die. In his new song ROBOT, he wonders why it is that man, with all of his technological achievements, has not been able to do something about his own mortality or least the extreme brevity of his time here on Earth. In his new single, Brown explores the idea of our souls being able to live somewhere other than in a human body. He imagines that once we are able to create systems that are as sophisticated as a human brain, perhaps they will be "colonized" by souls as our bodies have been. He imagines a "race" of poet robots. Far from the typical emotionless robots that pop culture normally presents us with, Brown's robots are empathetic and humble, free of man's most destructive instincts and yet in possession of his finest qualities. They wander the world in search of beauty and inspiration for their poems. They surf tsunamis, dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, meditate for months on end in a tree in the Amazon rain forest. They ponder the night sky and wonder, as we do, where their souls came from and where they will ultimately go when they depart this world. They are, simply, better versions of us. In the second verse of the song (in Russian), Vera expresses that it is precisely the weaknesses and shortcomings that she most loves about the narrator...that without them, he would not be special or unique and would be somehow less interesting and lovable than he is as a human being. People used to ride horses Then they moved on to cars Then on to big jet planes and Rockets to the stars Why's my soul any different? Trapped in this delicate skin I'd rather be made of titanium And free of all my sins I'd rather be a robot I'd rather be a robot I'd rather be a robot While I'm in this world I'd rather be a robot writing poems On a Sunday afternoon Перестань со мной быть сильным и как робот стальным я ведь вижу ты устал и немного простыл хватит с меня сомнений и спокойствия хватит я хочу, чтоб тебя смущало мое откровенное платье People are fragile And so full of fear Greed, rage and envy And wondering why were here Robots are humble An empathetic lot And they aren't constantly tortured By the instincts that we've got Recording took place in Barcelona, Moscow and Novosibirsk and was mixed in St. Petersburg by Roman Urazov at DGray Studios and mastered in Barcelona at Hitmakers Studio.
