Founded by producer/composer Alex Niggemann (AEON) and Singer/Songwriter Fabian Kuss (YEAH BUT NO), the brand new label will set out to be a bastion of quality, featuring bands & artists from a broad musical church with leanings towards Electronica and Neo Pop. DISTANT ECHOS kick off their journey with the debut EP from Maltese Duo KNTRL. The “JUST WORDS“ EP delivers a vibe that delves boldly into the dark edge and mood of the eighties but is tinged with a radio-friendly pop sensibility. KNTRL: "The process was quite a long one. This EP started in 2019, and all three tracks were planned to be instrumental. At the very early stages, all I knew was that it had to have dark tones with a human feel which is always very important for me. With this EP I also wanted to use my external synths and drum machines as much as possible." The lyrics came at a later stage and Matthew was the most sensible choice. His experience helped shape the tracks a lot and gave a much-needed pop vibe to the whole sound.“ Alex Niggemann’s danceable 4-to-the- floor remake, which finds its musical inspiration in the worlds of contemporary Italo and Indie Dance vibes, rounds up this fantastic debut EP. Previously KNTRL’s sound was almost introverted electro-pop mostly listened to by underground ambient//electronic lovers. Just words EP aims to move past that & appeal to a wider range of audiences ranging from the alternative to Indie-Dance.
