After establishing himself as a prominent solo entertainer/singer/songwriter in Newcastle, NSW, Australia and touring locally and abroad [Europe/UK], Tony Johns settled on the shores of Lake Macquarie, NSW, to raise a family and subsequently write and record "The Valley". An album of songs dedicated to "the beautiful life we have in the Hunter Valley". August 1994.

The album was produced and recorded by Mark Tinson at Overhead Studios, Newcastle and mastered by Don Bartley at Studio 301, Sydney.

All songs were written by Tony Johns. Musicians playing on the album include; Rita Scott[backing vocals], Ian Lees [bass guitar], Michel Rose [pedal steel & Dobro], Wayne Goodwin [fiddle & mandolin &string arrangements], Mark Tinson [mandolin], Gary Wilson [drums], Tony Azzapardi [percussion] and Tony Johns [lead vocals, accoustic guitar & harmonica] .
