简介

Mild mannered acoustic musician Bonny Morgan was innocently checking her email one day when she was swept away inside the computer and found herself in a wonderland of sound. She created, she mixed, she blended, she stirred, she painted, she arranged, she sculpted, and when she pressed "Burn", DJBonseye was born. “Digitally Yours” Comments by DJBonseye 1. Velvet Electricity I like to drive to this one. When I hit the open curve of the DVP South, right when you can see the Toronto skyscrapers. I imagine I’m in a personal jet. 2. Can’t Compute This song, and the theme of this album really, pays tribute to some of my favorite sci-fi icons, The Stepford Wives, Blade Runner, and especially many different episodes of Night Gallery and Twilight Zone. Computers and robots will age and become obsolete, just like humans. Computers will all ultimately be landfill, just like humans. On a different level, it’s about how I’m horrible with math. I literally can’t compute. 3. You’re The One The computer loves you. 4. Poundin’ The Pavement You need a gig, you go outside, you talk the walk, they tell you no, they tell you maybe, they tell you no, they tell you yes. 5. Funkengruuven Rollin’ uptown on a mysterious ride to an unknown locale. 6. Agnes’s Waltz Inspired by a Twilight Zone episode where Agnes was a computer who fell in love with every human male technician who came to operate her. This is my song of her unrequited love. 7. Commander We Have Liftoff A liftoff, subject to your own interpretation. 8. Lush Taxi Cab I got a ride home from the car fixit shop in a Lincoln Towncar Limo. Sweet Ride. 9. Digital Morning This song is one of the two here that are excessively ‘loopy’. The grooves & some of the key parts, etc. are ‘loops’. Repeating parts for use sort of like musical puzzle pieces. I like to think of the computer in some ways as a collaborator. This is part of what I mean by Digitally Yours, without computer technology and specifically Mac technology, this album would never have had the feel it has. I was lifted to new heights of creative freedom, thanks to technology. 10. Surrender Dorothy The album was needing something different to round it out. Enter Surrender Dorothy. This song was inspired by a painting created by a friend of mine. The painting is called Surrender Dorothy. It’s one of the uncertain moments in the movie (Wizard of Oz) when it seems that all might be lost, it contains the flying monkeys and crystal ball, it’s very dark. So I spent time in that moment of the story, the really scary part of the dream before you wake up. In the song the voices are saying sweetly, “Surrender Dorothy”, but we know because the story ends well, that Dorothy must not surrender, no matter what’s promised, even though the voices are sweet and enticing, promising luxury if she only gives in, they are false. I think that’s why I can explore that darkness, I know the story ends well. 11. Stay A Little Longer Boy I love dance music. It takes you to a place of freedom that anyone can access. This recording has a few glitches that I was not able to fix by my deadline, but decided to include it here anyway, just because we think it’s fun. Thanks! My hubby, my mom, my sister, My extended family, my music family, My friendship family and my listening family. Recorded and mixed at Cicada Music Inc. Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 2009. Mastered by J.
