简介
Keeping your head above water in a scene already so deep can sometimes be too much for bands, and they quickly give up and drown. Such is not the case with Floridian metal standouts Drayton Sawyer. While some may try to lump Drayton Sawyer into any number of genres or categories, the band considers their music to be something that certainly may fit well with other bands, but ultimately stands on it’s own in terms of originality and passion. All skilled tradesmen, the members of Drayton Sawyer understand the value of hard work and dedicating themselves to their craft. This mindset led the band to enter Echelon Studios in Birmingham, Alabama to work with producer Joseph McQueen (As I lay Dying, This Day Will Tell) on recording four songs for their 2011 EP 5000lbs. of Respect. The EP, which is comprised of two older songs and two brand new tracks, features As I lay Dying bassist and clean vocalist Josh Gilbert on the seminal track “Machetes Vs. Machines”, and is expected to be available through the band via the web and live appearances in March of 2011. In late 2012 Shane Mapoles parted ways with Drayton Sawyer. He is still a great friend and is wished well is all he does. In search of a frontman Michael Silver (ex-This Day Will Tell of Indianola Records) had hopped on board to fill in for upcoming shows. By January 2013 Silver was steering the ship as permanent lead vocalist of Drayton Sawyer. Featured on their full-length album "The Foundation" (October 15th 2013) are tracks that will show their true talent and ear grabbing precision.
