Born Bruce Gatlin, Jr. on February 7, 1985, Will was reared by his mother, Jennifer Gatlin, in Argo, Illinois. He had a strong church upbringing, and at the age of 5, began singing gospel songs. His grandmother, June Gatlin, was his biggest influence and would sing with him often before her passing when Will was 7. At age 9, Will, along with his mother and younger sister Ashley, relocated to his mother’s birthplace, McComb, Mississippi. They began attending New Life Fellowship Full Gospel Church and while there, Will truly began to discover his gift and talent for singing. Will often showcased his talent during church services, and as a result, he become a more confident singer. His desire for more opportunities to further enhance his musical career grew, and this same determining spirit motivated him to become an exceptional trombone player in the McComb High School Band. His experience as a devoted musician enabled him to learn the essence of musical ingenuity and to develop an earnest appreciation for all genres. His outstanding musical accomplishments earned him a full scholarship to Jackson State University where he became SOP section leader in the legendary "Sonic Boom of the South" Marching Band. While at Jackson State, Will and his roommante, Lance Cain. The two discovered their similar passion for music and recorded their first song, "Maybe," in December of 2003, with many more to follow. It was also during this time that Will became a devoted father. Soon after, Will met Larry James, an independent underground artist from K-Town West Chicago. James introduced Will to new styles of writing, forcing him to experiment and try new techniques. It was through this mentorship that Will discovered who he was as a producer. As an artist, Will has developed a unique knack for a variety of musical categories. He has sampled jazz and played in an orchestra, several wind ensembles, and concert bands. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, and musician with an in-depth knowledge of music’s influence. Now in 2010, Will has teamed up with Producer Antonio Burrell Turner, and with the assistance of rapper/producer, Tyreal Winding, the 3 have put together Will's greatest work: "Chronology." The album consists of 12 songs, all tracks produced by Antonio, and all lyrics written by Will Gatlin. Does this young team have what it takes? You be the judge....
