Winner of the Parents' Choice Gold Award, the CMW "Best Recording for Older Children" award, and the coveted Publishers Weekly 'Listen Up' award! "As much for adults to enjoy as children, with fab, sophisticated instrumentals and vocals. It's as witty as all get-out and often unexpectedly touching, too." - Los Angeles Times "Off-beat sense of humor, unexpectedly beautiful melodies, and instrumentals that are as adult as they get, without losing sight of young listeners. Madsen is a one-of-a-kind delight." - Parents' Choice Foundation "Gunnar Madsen, founder of the genre-busting a cappella group The Bobs, is back with another uproarious, dizzyingly imaginative children's album. Nowhere else, we guarantee, will you find songs like Madsen's drowsy ode to daydreaming, "Welcome to My Fog," his wacky tall tale "And the Children Rolled," and the bizarre "Mayonnaise and Pumpernickel Bread," which defies description." - Family Fun Magazine ---------------- Gunnar Madsen entered the world of children's entertainment by accident. The acclaimed acapella group he founded and wrote for, The Bobs, were known for their witty and adult lyrical twists and complex musical arrangements. But their unique all-vocal sound won them a surprise popularity with children. Inspired by this audience demographic, Gunnar began writing songs for children and their families. His first commercial recording for children, Old Mr. Mackle Hackle, received tremendous national acclaim. The phenomenal success of that recording inspired this follow-up CD: Ants in My Pants! Gunnar tours the country with his family-friendly shows, and has also written a book, "Old Mr. Mackle Hackle", published by Little, Brown. Gunnar's enjoys writing in many genres, and has received commissions from Lincoln Center, the Los Angeles Theater Center, the Minnesota Opera, Oberlin Dance Collective, ISO Dance Theater, National Public Radio and many others. He has written music for the feature films "Breaking the Rules", "A Special Providence", and "The Break Up". He is a performer on the soundtrack of "At Play in the Fields of the Lord," in the National Geographic Special "Asteroids: Deadly Impact," and is featured as the emotionally charged voice of Sammy Davis, Jr. in the Emmy-award winning HBO film, "The Rat Pack." His instrumental CD "Spinning World: 13 Ways of Looking at a Waltz" is a perennial best-seller on CDBaby, and is well known from it's placement on HBO's "Sex and the City" and in feature films.
