简介
Kim Edwards is a Dallas-based, East Coast-raised singer-songwriter. She began piano lessons at 4 years old and grew up listening to a healthy dose of everything from The Beach Boys to Mozart to Billy Joel. With roots steeped in classical music and an appreciation for acoustic pop, Kim's uniquely playful musicality has garnered favorable comparisons to artists such as Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor, and Christina Perri (with a hint of the Beatles). Edwards released her first 4-song, self-titled EP in May 2009. Recorded with producers Will Hunt (Bethany Dillon, Shane & Shane, Amy Lee) and Ken Calderon, the EP garnered independent radio play and international fans. Her newest record, "Wanderlust" (produced by Randy Adams) was released in 2012. Described as "epic and elegantly emotional chamber pop", the 14-song album reached #25 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart upon release, an impressive feat for a totally independent, DIY artist who used standard networking platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Kickstarter for exposure. Since the release, Edwards has been featured on numerous podcasts/internet radio shows (such as LA Talk Radio, the Audio Gumshoe podcast, Up Close & Acoustic with Charlie Silvestri on WBZH) and music blogs (Suffolk N' Cool, Adnams Brewery's Artist of the Month, IAmWhatsHot.com) and is carving out a niche for herself as a rising indie-chamber-pop artist. Edwards recently completed her first national tour in support of "Wanderlust." Her live show has steadily gained recognition, earning her an opening spot for bands such as Jars of Clay and Shirock. Her sharp sense of humor, witty stage banter, and musical prowess has produced a reputation for entertaining and engaging shows, making her an act to keep on the radar as she continues to win over fans' hearts and turn industry heads.
