简介
Hailing from the rugged outback of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, The Rider’s music has been influenced by the freedom of the outdoors and the elements and situations that make up daily life. That influence is felt in every self-penned song on his freshman CD, “My Way”. His singing has been likened to that of Gordon Lightfoot but edged by the grittiness of Merle Haggard and Keith Urban’s delivery. As a writer, The Rider masterfully paints mini portraits of familiar life stories in his songs. At fourteen, The Rider began crafting songs and performing them in public. With musical influences that have ranged from Merle Haggard to ZZ Top, The Rider’s musical style has grown over the years into a unique sound that has come to be known as “Rider Country”. The Rider came to Nashville to record this CD because it was the only place he felt he could find the studios & players that could translate his music from what he heard in his heart to CD. Among some of those players that he found were Bob Miner & Denny Hemingson from Tim McGraw’s band, “The Dancehall Doctors”, who played Acoustic Guitar / Mandolin and Pedal Steel / Lap Steel Guitars respectively. His CD, “My Way” is aptly named. These twelve songs have come from The Rider doing life his way… There are some really rockin’ country uptempo tracks like “Let’s Get Down” and “Hey What Do You Say”; some grooving mid tempo tracks like “Still Want You” and “Doin’ Fine Ya’ll”; a funky mid-‘70’s pop sounding track, “This Time” and a couple of mellow, introspective tracks “By Your Side” and “Hello Brown Eyes”. The Rider’s life revolves around his wife and three boys, riding his horse to the upper lakes at his grandfather’s ranch in Idaho and making the music that delivers gut wrenching honesty in the true life snapshots contained in “My Way”.
