Steven Whitson comes from the small town of Trimble, in West Tennessee. His mother says Steven started singing in church at the ripe young age of three...with his hymnal turned upside down! Steven began writing and recording his own music when he was just sixteen, with his first recording project being an Inspirational Gospel CD. Subsequent projects have resulted in a collection of no less than ten Independent CD's with varying types of music including Christmas, Country, Gospel, and Patriotic. Steven earned his Associate's Degree from Dyersburg State Community College in 2003 and transferred to Lambuth University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Music in 2005. Following his college graduation he went on to serve for two and a half years as the Music Director of Grace United Methodist Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Steven was named "West Tennessee Idol" in 2003 and has gone on to open for Rascal Flatts, Craig Morgan, Marty Stuart, and Aaron Tippin; just to name a few. Whitson also served as the Host and Lead Vocalist of the "Tennessee Shindig" in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee from 2007 - 2010. Steven now calls Nashville home, spending much of his time hosting tours (or as he says it; "TURS") of the Fontanel Mansion where he has worked since the property's opening in June 2010. Steven has made many friends and contacts during his tenure as a "Singing TUR Guide." In the Fall of 2012 Steven had a producer from LA on one of his "TURs." This chance meeting resulted in Steven making his television debut on the "Marie Osmond show" on the Hallmark Channel. And over the past year "Little Miss Dynamite," Brenda Lee, has taken Whitson under her wing mentoring and advising his career. Steven attributes his success to God, the loving support of his parents Ricky and Kathy Whitson, and to his loyal following of fans called the "Believers." If it weren't for all of them "Believin' in Steven", Steven's dream would never have become a reality. Steven's advice for anyone with the dream of becoming a performer...or anything else for that matter...is to always believe in yourself and never give up.
