Steel For Peace is an attempt to create awareness and funding opportunities for a cause that I believe in. My first effort in this regard is to offer one of the songs from my CD, Before The Dawn, as a download with the proceeds going to the Central Asia Institute. For those not familiar with CAI, it is an organization founded by Greg Mortenson, author of the great book Three Cups of Tea. His inspiring story should be read by all and is a classic example of how one person can affect great change in the world. His vision of educating the girls of Afghanistan and Pakistan to bring about change to this troubled region is forward thinking and righteous. The song available for download here is called Hymn For Peace. It is a song written by me and played on pedal steel guitar. Eamon McLaughlin provides a beautiful string quartet arrangement and Chris Gage plays the piano. Rich Brotherton and Tom Van Schaik provide the bass and percussion.
