After producing tracks for nearly a dozen indie hip-hop acts in the U.S. and U.K., producer Douglas “Big Chan” Chandler realized that combining his melodic savvy with those rappers’ lyrical flow could serve as an ideal showcase for both. The result is “A Tension Span Project” from Armored Sound Productions. A Tension Span has strong vocals alongside a booming, boisterous instrumental palette of swirling synths, a kaleidoscope of keyboards and enough rubbery bass to raise the roof and get all hands waving in the air.
