简介
Biography As HIPHOP is undoubtedly becoming an international vehicle for political and social change. Fidel is stepping up to become recognized as the Chief Messenger from Milwaukee spreading his art and activism to global reaches. Fidel’s community involvement and youth initiatives earned him the 2005 Wisconsin Giraffe Award which is given out by The Wisconsin Council of Family and Children to selected individuals who “stick their necks out” for kids. Fidel has also established two community institutions: The SUMMER OF PEACE and HIPHOP SOCIAL CLUB, both which serve the Greater Milwaukee Area as preventative youth programs and educational outlets. As a traveling entertainer/emcee, Fidel has set the stage and performed with COMMON, KRSONE, TOO SHORT, MIKE JONES, DEAD PREZ, BLACK EYED PEAS, among many others & has even done college circuit lectures on HIPHOP Culture. Fidel has also had the honor of presenting some of the great political figures of our generation including Maxine Waters, Angela Davis, and Fred Hampton Jr. As an accomplished and published journalist Fidel is already submerged in the industry has interviewed countless celebrities and legends including Russell Simmons, Mobb Deep, Mc Lyte, E40, Marley Marl, Mixmaster Ice, Hip Hop founding fathers Afrika Bambaata, DJ Kool Herc, Just-Ice and many more. The well rounded artist also has professional training and experience in acting, voiceovers, modeling, and theatre. Already a popular guest Host/emcee, Fidel is highly exposed and polished. Fidel the messenger-emcee first thought of the idea of doing a solo project after being asked several times by friends and fans of TASTE EMCEES currently, an umbrella organization/supergroup which Fidel is founding member of. With over ten years experience as a TASTE EMCEE, Fidel has produced, distributed and promoted close to a dozen independent releases and has truly been a trend-setter in the untapped Milwaukee music and promotions market. Fidel and DJ Stretch first began working together over five years ago and since then they have collaborated professionally on several different parties, concerts, emcee battles & youth events. “The concept for VIVA FIDEL! comes from adding some of my best early material with some new freestyles and exclusive jewels to bring my own original and positive perspective along w/ one of the youngest, hottest Djs in my city. ” As for subject matter, Fidel easily separates himself from the mainstream and all of its gimmicks and clones. “I call my music Healthy Hip Hop because most of the stuff on the market is recycled, poisonous garbage, so my message is like medicine to your ears, its thought provoking on purpose.”
