Sara and Vasudev had been meditating together for years before making this CD. Meeting in informal meditation and singing circles called satsang, they developed a strong sense of the sacred vibration contained in these songs. Vasudev went at age 19 to study with an Indian guru in the Himalayas diving deep into meditation and the intuitive understanding of sound. Leaving nine years later, he encountered Rainbow Gatherings that further inspired him to sing and share these songs. Mahadevaya as a group also played live with Sara and Vasudev being supported by Sigmund Vatvedt, Tord Helsingeng, Trond Turiiya Sigvartsen, Jt. Giitam and others. There have been innumerable beautiful gatherings in praise of the miracle of life in Norway and Sweden through the years. Singing these mantras and Heart Songs is such a great way to connect to Spirit, to God or the Universal Soul, whichever words you like. The songs convey love, wisdom and peace, qualities we all seek. This tradition originates in India, where bhajan, also called kirtan, is the main practice of the path of devotion, bhakti. The mantras are put to beautiful melodies and sung over and over again. You don’t have to have a singing voice or know anything about singing to participate; just be open to sing or listen and allow the songs to open you. Singing these songs we connect with our truth, fall into peace and expand into joy as we allow the songs to vibrate through us. We all shine on!
