简介
Schmelson (aka Nelson Schmelson, Terry Simple, Old Vacuum Eye, Dunkel Schpitz) began playing music as the drummer in the Minneapolis Punk-revival trio Fnuh! in the mid 90s. After barely graduating high school he moved to Tokyo and began work as a touring/session cajonist. "I'd sometimes play as many as 3 shows in an afternoon... trust me, that's enough slapping to start staining your cajon red with your own palm-blood" -Pickles magazine 2008. After a chance meeting with Liquid Pegasus in a low-rent Tokyo maid cafe in 2005, Schmelson saw the chance to hang up his percussion safety-gloves for a slightly less taxing approach to music creation. The duo began to collaborate on smoother, blue-eyed soul inflected boogie and synth-wave, allowing Schmelson to tap into his love for 70s era pop such as Wings, Harry Nillsson and Hall & Oates. Now that Schmelson has joined Halcyon Tone, we're pleased to be releasing his debut single Rollin' That Thunder, along with an accompanying video featuring LA Comedian Josh Fadem.
