This song came about early in the Banditos' history, although only recently released. We were wearing sombreros onstage, Mexican costume and speaking in a silly fake Mexican accent. The more gigs we did, the more I felt that we could be taken as a band who were employing racial stereotypes to further our career. I decided to redress the balance by writing a song about racism as a way of showing people that we were sensitive to these concerns. At the time of writing, whilst the sombreros remain, the accent has been long gone and we are even considering dropping the fine Mexican hats in the very near future. It will be difficult though, I'm not sure it's a Pancho gig without a sombrero!
