Operetta is an art in itself. Often called the "little sister" of the great opera, the operetta represents the "great comedy" of the musical theatre which was on the peak of popularity from the 19th to the mid 20th century. Capitals of operetta were of course Vienna, Paris and Berlin, but also other countries had an own tradition of operetta as e.g. in Spain, in England and even in USA. This album contains musical highlights from four international box office hits, from France, Spain and England. All selections were produced with all star casts in German translations which have been highly praised for being a top match to the original lyrics.
