Bright Kelly is the primary vehicle of mercurial Philadelphia singer/songwriter Michael Chance, now using a new moniker. Driven primarily by cathartic vocals that have drawn comparisons to Paul Carrack, Wilson Pickett, Joe Cocker, and Jeff Buckley, Kelly pioneered a sound that was termed "Soulternative" by the first radio DJ to interview him in 2009. With the addition of fresh blood - and a new name - Kelly began 2014 under the name "Dead Letters" with an EP entitled "When the World Began," a title that may prove prophetic for this upstart Philadelphia songwriter.
