Cloud Music Q&A Q. How would you describe your sound? A. This time around on this project you can expect a slightly different sound than you are used to from Aeon. This album is more melodic and smooth. Most songs are very mellow and speak to your soul with a hip-hop touch. Q. So you are about to release a new album, tell us everything about it starting with the name of the album. A. The new album is called Cloud Music. This name was inspired by travel. In this particular album I wrote most if not all of the songs while traveling. I had the opportunity to travel to many different countries. During my flights instead of sleeping I would write how I felt. It was a relaxing place to get my thoughts out looking at clouds passing and zooming past unknown cities when clouds weren't present or just looking down at the sun hitting the ocean.... Looking out of a window is inspiring and you see so many things even from 30,000 miles off the ground. This Album has 15 tracks to take you on a trip to the clouds and back featuring some of my favorite artists such as Lena Soul, R.Notes, Adrian Roxstar, Mishy, and Omotayo. Q. Who else was involved in helping you bring this album to fruition? A. My producer JHostyle contributed to a lot of the production. Jasmine, my go to person for harmonies and approving or disapproving a song. She also was very instrumental in the song selection. Jon was a life saver and mixed most of this project and also gave me some feedback about songs and recordings which were very helpful. I cant forget everyone who attended the early listening party gave me a feel for what the public would feel when they heard this project it was very helpful. Q. What would you say some of the challenges you encountered in doing this album were? A. The biggest challenge was during the recording process. Initially I started recording in Orlando were I recorded "Lights" ..... the first recorded song on this project. I had access to a studio while I was building mine and unfortunately I was unable to record the rest of the songs in Orlando due to scheduling conflicts. So I built my studio in Brooklyn where I recorded the rest of the songs on my own. The studio is called "The Palace". The Palace provided more flexibility and I was able to get songs recorded quicker. Another challenge was getting featured artists to the studio to record. Working full time and scheduling around another artists schedule was very challenging. I was able to get it done and some days I had to put in all nighters but it was all worth it and the artists were great. Q. Can you give us some insight into where, what or who motivated you to do the album? A. The album was motivated by trips around the world and my experiences. Initially I was working on another project and found myself writing a lot of songs with a smoother feel to it, which really didn’t match the project I was working on. It was something different so I decided to go with the flow and continue writing since the creation process was so rapid and organic. It just felt right. I continued writing songs and ended up with a full project…… I called it Cloud Music. Q. What would you say is the best single and why do you think it is? A. I feel the best single is “Don’t get fed” because I had THE MOST SPECIAL feature anyone could have on a song… My daughter. She was almost about a year at the time we recorded her part. She just learned how to say it… It makes me smile every time. Everyone else will probably say Passports since the feel of the song is just relaxing. It’s the theme song when I travel and I feel it is everyone else's theme song also. #westampingpassports don’t forget to hashtag your photos when you travel. Q. Are you planning to produce videos for any of the songs on this album? A. I am definitely planning on releasing some visuals to this project. I have already shot some scenes from passports with director Benny Flames. I am also planning on shooting a video for another song. The one that I am considering at the moment is "Lights". This is still just a thought so it may or may not change. Q. Are you planning to tour to promote this album? If so, when and where will you be performing? A. Hopefully I will be touring with this album but I will start of locally. I have no dates set yet but you can visit my website for updates. www.aeontheace.com Q. So how do you see this album propelling your career in the music industry? A. This album will introduce me to new audiences, which is exciting. This is the first time I have put out full-length album so this is all new for me and I will take this project to new heights. My limits are past the sky. Q. And we can’t forget to ask, of course, when and where can fans buy this album? A. The album is available for sale now and will be on sale on my website. Www.aeontheace.com as well as, all Internet retailers such as iTunes, Cdbaby, and Amazon Q. One last question for you: What other great things or projects can we look forward to hearing about from you in the future? A. I am working on two other projects right now. I will be releasing a mixtape with Guff entitled “Men Of Honor” this winter under the name BlackJack (Aeon The Ace & Guff). I am also working on another full length album which I have not decided on the final title. I have a few choices but I will see which title suits it best when I am closer to completion. It will be a great project so I am really looking forward to it.
