Greystar is a metal band from Maine. It began in 1998, when Tanus Greystar (aka Matt Stacey) began to record his first and only release entitled “The New Dawn” demo, which he released in 2000. The first version of this cd had a very primitive looking black and white cover, and the production was not very good. Tanus sent copies of it to metal zines all around the world with mixed reviews. In 2002, Tanus remastered the cd, cleaning up the sound considerably, and greatly improved the cover. He also added a track entitled “Undestined to Die,” a song that was actually written around 1993. Tanus plays all of the instruments on the demo, including vocals. He didn’t own a set of drums at the time, so all of the drum tracks on the cd are programmed.
