FKOD was first conceived in a online songwriting group, in the era of electronic dance music and the Trump presidency. It all started with Amanda West putting a post in the group about offering to write lyrics for any taker who would write music. Steven Wesley Guiles took up the challenge and wrote music for their first song and it was a keeper. They tried again a few weeks later, and so the addiction of writing together began. It was soon decided that a name was needed for this partnership, and Future Kings Of Denmark was officially christened as a band. Steven writes the music in Los Angeles California, Amanda writes the words on the west coast of Ireland County Galway. Though 99 percent of their writing happens online, they once they worked together in the same room in LA, expecting it to be very different. But it wasn’t. It was the same, just much faster. If you fancy a combination of The Hives, Black Keys, The Strokes, and BRMC, with a little Queens Of The Stone Age, Killers, Foo Fighters and White Stripes thrown in, then you will love FKOD’s first ablum, Fiery Ends.
