Raised in corn and bean fields on the outskirts of Greentown—a one-stoplight stop-and-go in central Indiana—singer/songwriter Josephine Johnson now calls Eureka, California, her home. Her music often speaks of love, loss, triumph, and return through a tapestry of outdoor imagery and subtle story telling. But pretty words and pleasant melodies isn't all she does. A keen observer, Josephine’s songs give compassionate insight into lives marginalized in American culture. Josephine Johnson has a B.A. in art and an M.A. in English and has been writing songs for ten years. 'elemental' is her first CD release.
