These pieces were inspired by the prepared piano pieces of John Cage, the birds in my neighborhood and the continuing Philosophical/science of Dada. Jan. '08 For the uninitiated, the Sk1 is a toy sampler manufactured by Casio around the 1980's. The electro/instrument builder opens it up and cross wires the circuit connections (they call it brain surgery). This in turn creates different sonic effects. An off shoot of this tinkering does not allow the instrument to be plugged into an outlet. You must use batteries or you might electrocute yourself, damage the instrument, or worse!
