This project started when Julie Ford asked for some songs and lyrics to listen to and read as she worked on her sixth novel. By the time she was finished, nearly all of the songs in the album were also in the book. The original title of the book was going to be "yard sale memories", but after hearing the final music, "with no regrets" won out. Originally written after the death of Ashlynn's (Chuck's 7 yr old daughter's) best friend, Lindsay Jo, who drowned after an epileptic seizure. The challenge from Lindsay's parents to live with no regrets was a push for Chuck to revisit his passion for music.
