简介
Los Angeles-based indie record label POP CAUTIOUS RECORDS has announced its debut release, a 3-song sampler featuring one track from each artist on the label, will be available on iTunes and all other digital retailers Tuesday, February 10. POP CAUTIOUS RECORDS produces, promotes and releases music in a variety of genres: folk-rock, alt-country, post-rock, neo-soul, experimental and more. There are presently three acts signed to the label--Seneca and the River, Pop Cautious and Luke Strand--with more signings to be announced soon. Musician, producer, composer Tyler Porterfield, also known as Pop Cautious, formed the label in order to establish a creative, collaborative environment and ideal platform to better serve himself and his musician friends. All three acts perform music as the artistic collective Seneca and the River, in addition to having their individual solo projects. Seneca and the River--Seneca Pettee (Vocals/Guitar), Pop Cautious (Mandolin/Vocals), Luke Strand (Trumpet) and Kaeleigh Hamel-Curd (Drums)--is an indie folk-rock band that formed during the summer of 2013 in Los Angeles. Initially the band came together for an Artist Development Competition and included a dozen of Seneca's friends and co-workers. In 2013 Music Connection named the group one of their “Top 100 Live Unsigned Artists & Bands,” and over the past year and a half, Seneca and the River’s sound has developed and become uniquely identifiable. Pop Cautious hails from Houston, TX and fine-tuned his sound gigging in Austin while studying music theory at the University of Texas. In 2010, he decided to move to Los Angeles for a film school program, and shortly thereafter joined Seneca and the River as mandolin player. His versatile background in rock, jazz, experimental, classical, singer/songwriter, and more, lend him the valuable tools necessary to craft his music according to emotion and feel. His solo track “Willow” features two-time grammy nominated saxophonist and former contributing member of the band The Mars Volta, Adrián Terrazas-González. Northern California singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Luke Strand is contributing his song “Unspoken” to the upcoming label release. Having created music since early childhood, Luke now lives in Los Angeles and continues to write, produce, and play both original and covered material, also performing trumpet as part of Seneca and the River.
