简介
GULFSTREAM was produced by legendary British producer John Porter and features a sonic blend of vintage and modern Gulf Coast roots Rock 'n' Roll and soul. Although the Hub City All Stars are well versed in the traditional Cajun & Zydeco stylings of their Bayou State, they use these roots as a launchpad for creating their own style of Louisiana roots music. Hard driving, and good times along with tear-dropping ballads make up this powerful recording featuring well-written original songs and a handful of select covers from master songsmiths. RODDIE ROMERO & the HUB CITY ALL STARS are a renowned, Grammy nominated Louisiana band who have been performing worldwide at the most prestigious venues and festivals and venues for over 25 years. This premier Louisiana band is celebrated not only for their authenticity when performing or recording traditional Cajun and Creole music indigenous to South Louisiana, but also for their original songwriting which stays true to Louisiana inspirations. They are notorious "Louisiana-Roots-Rockers" centered around infectious grooves and soulful originals. Behind Roddie's Romero's soulful vocals, pumping accordion and slide guitar mastery lies the Louisiana roots sound of The Hub City All Stars - funky Hammond B-3 organ, boogie-woogie piano, hard-driving upright bass, Creole drumming, and tasteful roots guitar. American music is Roddie Romero & the Hub City All Stars — born out of the Delta dirt — rising high off the levee of traditionalism and into the future of Louisiana Music. QUOTES: “Hub City All-Stars is exactly what this band is…unmatched in talent and originality. They live to play that next note, get the crowd going, hurl traditional zydeco into the future and to have fun doing it! This team has star power that will endure forever.” - The Times “Lafayette, La.’s Roddie Romero & The Hub City All-stars recreate the easy-rocking, good-timing, highly danceable mix of Cajun, swamp pop and ’50s rock that has fueled Cajun country bars and dancehalls for decades. The Grammy nominees (for 2008’s The La Louisianne Sessions) are led by accordionist/guitarist/vocalist Romero and pianist Eric Adcock, and they had the Fais Do Do stage crowd swaying, waltzing and two-stepping in the dust under the relentless mid-afternoon sun to classics like Hey Bob-A-Ree-Bop and Walkin’ To New Orleans and originals like It Ain’t Easy.” - USA TODAY “…One of the delights was discovering acts such as Roddie Romero and the Hub City All-Stars!” - ABC NEWS “…Saturday, the highlight of my summer (even having seen Sir Paul McCartney), included Louisiana native Roddie Romero and his Hub City Allstars (with a few of The Mavericks in the crowd)!” - Ellmore Magazine “But what separates this from being just another solid album of familiar South Louisiana fare are the tasteful originals enveloped in sophisticated, relatively indigenous arrangements. Topics of various life issues are pitted against diverse backdrops of contemporary Acadiana, New Orleans junker piano, gospel-tinged R&B and even western swing. As talented as Romero is as a multi-instrumentalist, he’s equally amazing as a brown-eyed soul-drenched crooner, which gives these songs their final oomph. With such gems as “I’ll Be Sanctified,” “Love is Eternity” and “Lazy Lawyer,” Romero and Adcock can be taken more seriously as American writers who just happen to play kick butt Cajun and zydeco music.” - OFFBEAT REVIEW by Dan Wilging NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS GRAMMY NOMINATION 2008 for their double record, “The La Louisianne Sessions”, a tribute to Louisiana music past, present, and future.
