简介
On Ohene’s latest album, I Am Ohene, his full range of musical and lyrical dexterity is on display. The slick rhymes, creative concepts, and head‐nodding beats that music fans have come to expect from underground rap's elite are all there, on songs such as "Tongue Fu" and "I Can Do That," but Ohene ‐ as a keyboardist, guitarist, and music engineer ‐ brings a level of musicality all but unseen in independent hip‐hop, on songs such as "Bastard Child" and "Burn in the River Acoustic." Perhaps most impressively, Ohene wrote, produced, arranged, recorded and mixed each track himself without the aid of samples or loops ‐ each instrument is played from start to finish. As well, he seamlessly oscillate between 4:4, 3:4, 5:4, and 6:8 time signatures in a way that is almost invisible to the average fan. Although fans that are not themselves musicians may not be able to articulate every melodic move, they still understand that they are witnessing high art. “Known about him since rapademics! I love his growth and transitions thru out the years... I encourage all to expect to see him around for a long time [sic]” writes NP on 2DopeBoyz.com. “This work of true artistic genius is unmistakable,” shares Iwadhwani on The9Elements.com. Relating to people of all walks of life, Ohene maybe the closest thing to a complete artist we have witness in quite some time. It’s about time. Written, produced, mixed, and recorded by O'hene Savant; cover art by Blue Robin.
