简介
Live is the second album released by Brooklyn based, Ohio bred band Huntertones. This high energy, horn led group got their start playing shows at a house on Hunter Avenue near The Ohio State University, and recently returned to their native state to record at two venues crucial to the growth of the band: Natalie’s Coal Fired Pizza in Columbus and BLU Jazz in Akron. Huntertones’ music is a social experience and the energy and emotions that come from live audiences inspire more risk taking and honest expression from the band. ‘Live’ captures the atmosphere of a group in it’s element, performing their genre-bending original compositions and creative covers while feeding on the energy of a hometown crowd. Ott deconstructs a riff of Camptown Races to create an entirely new piece that combines classical elements with hip hop and closes with a beautifully evolving solo by Theron Brown. Sweatin’ is a party that starts on the stage and spills into the audience, lead by Lampley on the sousaphone. White’s seamless arrangement of Neil Young’s Heart of Gold and Dave Matthews’ Two Step builds to a soaring finish by guitarist Joshua Hill. During Hip Mr. Hampton, the band breaks down into their signature, unconventional trio of sousaphone, saxophone, and beatboxing. From beginning to end, this album puts the listener in the front row of a Huntertones show and creates an exciting interactive experience that shows off the true essence of the band playing their music the way it was intended to be played: Live!
