'Human Conflict' - the self-produced debut recording by Broad (on the band's own Mad Greek Records) was recorded live with only acoustic instruments. The result is a stirring mixture of rock, soul, R&B, funk, and pure unadulterated beauty that sets this New York group apart from the current crop of trendy rockers. Broad established itself as one of New York's hottest live acts, playing regularly at such Manhattan staples as Brownies, AkA, Spiral, the Bitter End and also appeared at the World Cup Tournament at Giant's Stadium. Fronted by Lisa Rose, who has sung with Billy Joel, Glen Burtnik, Marshall Crenshaw, John Eddie, and Mitch Malloy, the band moves deftly through its unique repertoire with a compelling vocal and visual style.
