Marc Black was first confronted with the horrors of hydro-fracking when he was playing a show in Suliivan County in far west New York State. Seeing how the temptation of short term profit was ripping apart towns and families, and how pernicious the process itself is, he immediately felt the need to help get the word out however he could. He wrote this tune and then recorded it with some of his cohorts from the Hudson Valley...beside his regular rhythm section, he rounded up John Sebastian, Eric (dueling banjos) Weissberg, and a hundred local folks who came together to sing along. Marc has been singing it at events throughout the Northeast. And recorded versions of the song have been used at rallies as far away as Ireland, South Africa and Australia. Since time is of the essence, Marc and director Blake Farber are now working on a music video to get the word out to even more folks. It should be done by mid-June and will be free for anyone and everyone to share.
