简介
Despite the mistakes he made and the hardships he endured in his life, the Bible describes David as a man after God's heart. In the midst of the darkest days, David always knew he could find peace and safety in the bosom of his God through worship. God loved David and anointed him as a worshipper and a warrior. David's gift and tenacious faith brought him before great men and caused him to triumph in victory. Jonathan Shaw, in many respects, is a modern day David. Whether it was displaying God's power and strength on the gridiron to the cheers of thousands during his athletic career or connecting with God all alone with songs of worship that he was anointed to pen, it is evident that Jonathan is a man after God's heart. Jonathan has accomplished many tremendous things in his lifetime, but very few know the road he has endured along the way. On May 14, 1983, there seemed to be no hope for Jonathan as he was pronounced clincally dead by doctors in the Florida Hospital. After 45 minutes without a heart beat, God saw fit to breathe life and purpose into Jonathan's body. God sealed and destined his heart that day to live out a great purpose. Jonathan was born into a Christian and very talented home with Pastors for parents and three brothers; all of which were gifted athletes, singers and musicians. At five years old, he accepted Jesus into his heart and was baptized later that year under his own convictions at a Benny Hinn service. Growing up, Jonathan was always an entertainer in the school and church choir. He also followed in the foot steps of his older brother's athletic achievements with his city and school leagues. He was eventually heralded as an All-State high school athlete in Florida before earning a full athletic scholarship to William and Mary. Jonathan's faith and relationship with God would be tested as he moved away from family to Virginia. Soon after arriving to college, Jonathan began to slowly turn away from God and lose sight of the convictions he once held dear to his heart. The enemy tried his best to get him to abort the purpose he was destined for since birth, but much like David, God quickly got his attention because of what was at stake. It was a stormy day in October of 2002, when Jonathan's life flashed before him. He was severely injured in a football collision against Hofstra University. An ambulance rushed him to the hospital with massive internal bleeding from the most severe kidney laceration case possible according to cat scan records. Jonathan also suffered a punctured liver. The doctors sought to remove the damaged kidney immediately, but could not receive the consent from Jonathan's father and mother who were in attendance at a Benny Hinn crusade. Miraculously, the doctors were able to manage the internal bleeding until his parent's arrived to the hospital. Upon arrival, they were informed of Jonathan's near death experience and the necessity to proceed with an immediate surgery. They began to believe in faith as they did in 1983 that everything would be just fine. God directed them to decline the doctor's recommendation to remove the kidney. The bewildered doctors continued running the necessary tests and within days were astonished to witness God's healing power. Jonathan was released from the intensive care unit soon after with a clean bill of health and a completely healed kidney and liver without having to undergo any surgical procedures. God had performed yet another miracle, which would be the turning point in Jonathan's walk with God. His impact and influence for the Kingdom of God began upon his return to school and the playing field that same spring. Jonathan's testimony was spread all across the Virginia news and his friends and teammates began to notice this change and were led to start or rededicate their lives to Christ as a result. God began to anoint Jonathan to write songs such as Chosen, Thank You for the Cross, My Worship and God is Able to express the grace, hope and love he found in his recommitted relationship with Jesus Christ. His songs are now ministering to people all over the world. Jonathan now serves as one of the worship leaders of Metro Life Church in Doral, Florida. He's had the privilege to sing and/or collaborate with world-renown worship artists such as Mary Alessi, Martha Munizzi, David & Nicole Binion, Ingrid Rosario, Clint Brown, Khristian Dentley, Ron Kenoly, The Kenoly Brothers, Michael Gungor and Bishop Joseph Garlington. Jonathan has been chosen by God as a singer/songwriter for a generation longing for a genuine and passionate relationship with their Creator. You will be blessed and experience God's divine presence as Jonathan leads you into the lap of God through worship. His prayer is that his listeners will experience a time of worship that will elevate their spirtual altitude to see their circumstances and hardships from God's perspective and begin to live the uncompromising life of an overcomer!
