Escape Velocity is the debut solo album of the Italian guitarrist and producer Vincenzo Avallone. the style of this album goes from modern progressive metal flavours to more ambient and almost djent sonorities with the use of lush pads and space synths and clips. the concept behind this album is this: Aliens from the "egyptian" planet SG-1 attack the Earth and bring death and chaos on the whole planet until a brave warrior, commander of the human space battalion,manages to steal a ship from the rival army and using the immense power of that vessell , sends them on retreet via an improvised and badly displayed wormhole that sucks everyone in it. the human commander and his ship land on the Sea Planet Gliese 581-G and there he was saved by the friendly humanoid spieces that live on that planet,including a beautiful girl that helps him in the healing process. the two start to find really attracted by eachother and eventually they fall in love. in the meantime the aliens regroup and invade the planet Gliese 581-G tracking down the ship the commander used. they kidnap the girl and sent her to a prison planetoid in a near system,there she manages to escape thanks to her incredible agility and intelligence. the commander destroyed by the death of the planet Gliese and the kindnapping of her loved one falls into despair but after a moment of deep sorrow he promises himself he will destroy the invaders and save his planet,so he take his battleship once again and confront with the alien leader winning the battle,wounded and floating in space he is saved by his girl that lucky manage to find an escape pod and the two come back to Earth and celebrate with the whole planet the end of the first intergalattic human war.
