Blackflower have been going for over 10 years, starting off as a bedroom recording project, and steadily gaining members and performing live, becoming a popular part of the Newcastle Live Music Scene, and picking up airplay on bbc 6music and bbc radio 2 from the likes of marc riley and steve lamacq. They have released two split singles and a debut album. They have played with The Kissaway Trail, The Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, Glasvegas, Country Joe, School of Language, Bearsuit and many others. They make bittersweet, heartfelt and uplifting indie pop and rock, soulful, upbeat with melancholic lyrics. Inspired as much by the 80's and 90's british and american underground, as by classic 60's pop.
