A contemporay folk-Americana style of music David was raised in Texas and relocated to Florida in 1996. He began playing guitar and singing live at an open mic in Jacksonville, FL in 2000. There he met Jimmy Solari, singer/guitarist/songwriter, and together they formed the duo, “Don’t Tell Anne.” Bryan Ripper, who played double bass joined soon after. The band played weekends which included many dates with drummer Matt Schaeffer; this left open dates for David to perform solo gigs. After “Don’t Tell Anne,” David played rhythm guitar and was lead vocals in a band formed by guitarist Justin Smith called “Crossfire Hurricane,” with the late bassist Bennie Clifton who later joined and toured with the Clark Hill Band. David returned to Texas in 2011 to be closer to his family. He currently plays only solo gigs in the Austin area and still loves performing on stage. “Well, I Do,” was always performed by David a solo piece. Thanks to Kathryn Adams, Chip Radford, and bassist Mickey Rouse, the addition of Ellen Radford on vocals transformed the piece into a duet elevating the song to an unanticipated level of beauty.
