“Coming Home” – single released 6th Feb 2014 A new female duo is set to hit the airwaves in 2014. Tracey Browne and Raevennan Husbandes met in February 2012, when they were selected to work with folk band ‘The Unthanks’ during a week-long musical residency at Manchester’s famous Band On The Wall. They worked alongside 12 other emerging musicians from across the UK, to collaborate and produce a show for public performance. Tracey and Raevennan continued that collaboration this year, and are releasing a record as a duo in 2014. Tracey has been a regular member of Thea Gilmore’s live band since 2010, and has recently been featured and praised for her own solo writing on BBC Radio 2 by Janice Long. Raevennan has returned to writing, recording and performing after a forced break due to illness, where she temporarily became paralysed, blind and deaf. She has recovered from this, and since been featured on the ‘Harbour of Songs’ compilation where she worked with Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams) and her solo work is currently being recorded and championed by B.J.Cole, one of the UK’s top musicians and pedal steel players. The first single to be released from the fruit of this collaboration is ‘Coming Home’; a celebration of the place that holds our hearts, while we’re travelling. Tracey Browne’s home is in Manchester, in the North-West of England, while Raevennan Husbandes has a base in Lowestoft, the most Easterly point of the UK. The forthcoming album has a diverse range of songs, all held together by tight harmonies, great lyrics and beautiful guitar work, including dobro and a few guest appearances from an old Gibson 335. ‘Coming Home’ is a taste of what’s to come, and we are very excited to present it. “Like a female Simon & Garfunkel” – Belinda O’Hooley & Heidi Tidow
