I wrote this song about two friends of mine, one of whom was totally in love with the other, while the other was completely oblivious to his feelings. They would never have worked as a couple. It seemed like everyone in the world knew that he loved her, apart from her. Like most unrequited love, he felt, he hurt, he moved on. That's a bit of a boring song though, so I ended it the way we sometimes feel like ending things (but only do if we're quite clearly insane.)
