简介
Taken from the album John Wesley Harding (1967), Bob Dylan's classic song is as relevant today as it was then. Covered by Jimi Hendrix in 1968 it stormed the singles charts and was listed as 47th of the top 500 tracks of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine. Here The Papers expand on the Hendrix version adding jazz and reggae influences with a nod towards hip hop vocalising. The track rolls along until it reaches its explosive conclusion with a blistering solo by keyboard genius Paul Smail. On the journey, rasping vocals from Sten Stenapo punctuate the powerful yet subtle reggae rhythm of Norman Marsh (drums) and Harry Fitzsimons (bass). Icing on the cake comes from the guitar of Rob Bright, interweaving licks from Hendrix into his own soloing. A thunderous version of this great song.
