Labrysinthe, based in Berlin, Germany, electronically roams through a wild range of styles and moods, including not only techno, electroclash, psychedelic and progressive trance, but older forms like post-punk, industrial, mediaeval, and orchestral music. Alternately banging and whispering, Labrysinthe dances to the beat of many different drums: underground raves, mediaeval dances, ‘70s horror-movie soundtracks, jigs and marches, and shamanistic desert drones. Labrysinthe’s music is a journey through history dancing to the eternal Now.

Labrysinthe is Natalia Lincoln, who began her musical career as a classical music freak, studied piano with Péter Takács at the Oberlin Conservatory, composed choral, organ and ensemble music for sacred spaces in New York City, then went heretic and joined gothic/apocalyptic folk band Unto Ashes as premium purveyor of keyboards, vocals, and gloom, toured the U.S., Germany, and Europe and dug Berlin so much she moved there, but not before tasting the delightfully twisted freakquencies of electronic psychedelica, at which point Labrysinthe was born into this world that could neither spell her name nor name her spell. She-who-must-be-Labrysinthe studied electronic music production at Dubspot NYC and dBs Music Berlin, and is a member of co-working studio Noize Fabrik in Berlin. Labrysinthe is voluntarily committed to the institution of Eclectronica and stands for better machines, brighter knowledge, bolder music, and the blissful ecstacies of the beat.
