The Tonics are a men’s a cappella group founded as a double quartet in 1990 by George Gephart and Jim Buck. Now comprising 16 singers who all reside in the Greater Philadelphia area, the Tonics enjoy amusing audiences at social, charity and business events around the Mid-Atlantic region. They perform at private parties, private clubs, restaurants, schools, and retirement communities. They have sung many times at World Café Live, 333 Belrose Restaurant, and at Milkboy Coffee. The Tonics have performed the U.S. and Canadian national anthems at Philadelphia Phillies games (both at Veterans Stadium and Citizens Bank Park), and have hosted and participated in several a cappella jamborees. From the start, the Tonics' repertoire has been varied and eclectic but always a cappella. From traditional four-part TTBB arrangements to complicated multi-part arrangements with lead vocals/duets/trios and vocal percussion, the Tonics recordings take this a step further, incorporating the latest in sound production. Songs include covers of both well known and more obscure pop, rock, disco, New Wave, ballads, gospel and soul. In addition to "Antidotes" (2015), the Tonics have released "A La Carte" (2008), "Enigma" (2001), and "uncapped" (1998).
