简介
Bob Dylan said it best when he stated, "No one can argue with word of mouth.” This is Edward Guglielmino’s greatest strength, he is an artist people want talk about and share and it is for this reason, his following grows on a daily basis.Based in Brisbane, Australia, Guglielmino is an avant-garde sonic experimentalist with a sound falling somewhere between rock, pop, folk and noise and an offbeat style that often finds common ground with the philosophies of Warhol, Keroac and The Velvet Underground. injecting the usual beat-era irreverence and stream-of-consciousness storytelling concept with a distinctly modern, technology-embracing indie-kid twist, Guglielmino’s palette is an arsenal of cheap guitars and effects while is canvas is the exploding internet music community. His arthouse attitude to performance whimsically reinterprets the "genre" of tunes from gig to gig and can often render his songs difficult to classify. Think Robert Smith meets Thom York meets Kurt Cobain meets Lou Reed meets Jeff Buckley. A prolific songwriter and somewhat of a local cult icon, Guglielmino’s MySpace page is central to his success. He worked the online community to sell his debut album The Learning Curve to connoisseurs-of-the-odd scattered all around the world. His second and most notorious release Tacky (A Very) Tacky EP features lead single and live favourite ‘Tacky Song’ but despite its recognition, Guglielmino almost immediately superseded it with a relentless stream of new recordings uploaded weekly to his site. Music aside, Guglielmino has a lot to say and writes a blog centred around philoposphy, music, art and culture. His readers include Anton Newcome (The Brian Jonestown Massacare), Angie Hart (Frente, Holidays On Ice, Splendid) as well as many other "in the know" music collectors and musicians. Guglielmino is currently recording his third commercial release, a full length album produced and recorded by Matt Redlich at Massive Studios (Fi Claus, Bobby Flynn). With new material and talk of putting together a full band, 2008 will see Guglielmino taking to the stage throughout Australia and across the world, engaging audiences with his dynamic performance.
