简介

About the film A Drop Of Love: In such a multicultural city as Toronto, there are no boundaries for love; here we meet Joe—driven to find a deep connection not only with another individual but also another culture. Joe begins his journey beyond familiar boundaries by riding his bicycle to a beachside park, where he meets a Bangladeshi woman named Afrin. Joe’s enthusiasm for learning about other people is matched by Afrin’s utter openness and approachability. They strike up a conversation, and soon they’re strolling the park together. Being a deep, intellectual soul, Afrin thrives on knowledge, and for a moment she forgets common sense and is taken away by her fascinating company—intrigued as she is by the thought of a Torontonian so eager to learn about her culture. Their intimate discussion about life and imagination brings about feelings of nostalgia, and within the space of a few short hours, Joe’s mind steers a sharp course away from reality. Little does he know how far his journey will take him into the unknown. Director Golam Mustofa about the project, A Drop Of Love: "Love is a global language that converses on its own, intending to bring two souls together. A heart speaking through the language of love to another exists on a plane beyond even the spoken word, religion, race, colour, or professional and materialistic status. The movie “A Drop of Love” depicts a tale about the boundlessness of love, in which a Caucasian boy, Joe, struggles to win a South Asian girl’s heart. Joe’s human feelings become a metaphor—“A Drop of Love,” which can be dropped and absorbed anywhere from one heart to another. The journey of this project commenced a few years ago when my lovely wife shared with me a fun-loving true story, which afterwards was crafted into cinematic embroidery by many dexterous hands across the globe. More then two years of dedication by talented composers from New York, vocalists from London, Tokyo, NYU, Berkley, and UCLA, animation and VFX studios from Europe, the Middle East, and Toronto, and most importantly of all, the brilliant actors, actresses, and crew from across Canada are reflected through the projector onto the screen for a short 70 minutes." Filmmaking rules are not etched in stone; rather, filmmaking is a very fluid art, as reflected history in its history. In this project, the nature of our story—blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination—led us toward significant experimentation and intentional crossing of traditional lines. We hope our efforts and new perspectives in filmmaking will offer viewers an engaging, entertaining, and thought-provoking experience. As music is an essential ingredient of movies from the silent film era to CGI- centric motion pictures, the music in “A Drop of Love” plays an integral part of in the film—expressing characters’ emotion, heightening drama, establishing moods, and highlighting details within the storytelling. A year and a half was devoted to the nine original songs with astoundingly catchy tunes, versatile instrumentations, sweet vocals, and heart-touching lyrics. These songs have undoubtedly added significant value to the film and will certainly draw the viewers for quite a long time thereafter.
